Baby Shower #5

On May 26th, my 2nd set of Mom's threw me another shower! It was so adorable. The decorations were so cute! Barb hosted it at her home, which is absolutely beautiful....I guess that's what happens when you're an interior decorator:) This group of friends has been in my life since I was little. They are pretty much what my Mom calls her Bridge group since they actually do get together, play bridge, and have some wine. However, they have been around since I can remember! I am so grateful to have such wonderful people in my life! Thank you to all the hosts for a wondeful shower. I need to take some notes from you on your creative ideas:)

The most wonderful 2nd Mom's ever:)
Durbin & I....I love how he comes to all the shower:) He's so sweet!

A game where everyone brought a baby picture & we all had to figure out who was who....I got 8 out of 10....not too shabby:)

Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend!:)

I don't think I could've asked to marry a more wonderful man...for many reasons! I thought a vacation to Amelia Island was enough, but for our two year anniversary/mom-to-be gift, he gave me more diamonds! He presented me with the most beautiful Aqua Marine tear drop necklace/pendant surrounded by diamonds! It matched the blue topaz ring surreounded by diamonds that he gave me earlier this year. He said he wanted to give me something special knowing the second year of residency with a newborn will be a little difficult. Everyone told me over and over how hard the first year would be and to my surprise......it wasn't bad at all. With that said, year two will be a little more stressful, but exciting, with our new little one!
I absolutely love my necklace, but love my husband more. I know he will make the most amazing father although it's hard to imagine he could be better than he is now:) We are just happy that our family is starting to grow and can't wait to see what the future holds!

7th Inning Stretch:)

Today we had another check up! Everything is looking great! At this point, the little Durbinator weighs about 4.5lbs! I, on the other hand, do not:) hahaha The doctor says I'm definitely on the lighter side from what he normally sees. Yippy!:) I'm measuring smaller than 8 months (which was definitely nice to hear), but everything looks great:) The baby's head was pointing down, which is apparently a good sign. At this point he's guessing about 7.5-8.5lbs for the birth weight. Who knows......this kid seems to really enjoy food so maybe we will have a little one closer to Durbin's size at birth....10.5+ lbs!!! Scary, I know:)
We now have to go every week for our final visits. The doctor and I still have our bet.....he thinks it's a boy, so I clearly have to take girl! It's his Diet Coke vs. my Miller Lite:0 It will definitely be interesting to see who wins this bet, but more exciting just to see who we will welcome into this world!!!

Baby Shower #4

On May 22, Ellen, Durbin's sister, threw us our 4th Baby Shower for the Durbin side of the family. All the Grandparents, Aunt, Uncles, cousins, sisters, brothers, little ones, etc were there. It was great to get to see everyone and we appreciate all those who came in from out of town. We can't believe how big all the little ones are getting! It's just a matter a days now before ours arrives so we tried to take some tips, but who knows how that will pan out:)
We are about 33 weeks now so can't wait for the next several weeks and then the best surprise of life.
Thanks for a beautiful shower Ellen! We still need to hunt down who stole my flowers, but the ones I do have are lookin' lovely:))

BABY SHOWER #3

On May 16th, my Mom's side of the family threw me my 3rd Baby Shower. It was absolutely wonderful, especially since my cousin Susie & my cousin's wife, Jackie, were there & they are both pregnant as well! Jackie is due 2 weeks after me and Susie is due September 20th. We also have another cousin who will be having twins at the end of the year. It's amazing that just one side of the family will have 5 new little ones within 5-6 months. I guess we will just have to have playdate after playdate:) The joys of life.
It was great seeing my cousins, aunts, and my cousins little ones....even though they're not really little anymore! It's crazy just how quickly they grow up. Before we know it Durbin & I will be sending ours off to college:)) LOL
Thank you to my Aunt Carole & Aunt Annie for a beautiful shower. I always love hanging out with you all....you made my belly jiggle with all of the laughter:) I hope you're ready for little Durbin!! If you think I was a handfull....you just wait:)

BABY SHOWER #2

On May 15, Caren & Marlo threw me my 2nd Baby Shower. It was absolutely perfect! Several of the military people couldn't make it and were missed, but we had a blast! I have to thanks Heather for winning the belly contest and of course my Mom won the alphabet contest. Looking back, I think those who have already had children should've had a delayed start time for that game:) I might've had an ounce of hope that way!!:)
I truly appreciate all of the wonderful gifts & it was great seeing everyone! It's so hard to get everyone together these days, but we are glad it was for a fun and special ocassion. Thanks for making the long drive Roberta...you're a peach!
Thanks again for a great shower and we can't wait for you all to meet our new little one soon:)

BABYMOOM - Amelia Island

Durbin & I decided a BABYMOOM was definitely in order before our new addition arrives. We are about 7 1/2 months along so at the end of April we went to The Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island for a week. It was absolutely beautiful. When we arrived they greeted us with some Champagne for Durbin and some cranberry juice for me....typical:)) Then they delivered a bag of babies toys and stuffed animals to our room. We stayed in an ocean front suite, which was absolutely amazing & had the most wonderful view! Durbin needed some relaxation time so that's exactly what we did. Laying out, eating out and just enjoying the beach & wonderful weather made our BABYMOON absolutely perfect! We have a ton of pics, but here are just a few from our "last" vacation alone!!!
One of our morning walks on the beach...about 30 weeks pregnant!

Our last few minutes before we left the Ritz.....we really didn't want to smile:)

Mother's Day!

For my first "Mother's Day" Durbin took me to a nice brunch & then we had a very relaxing day! It was just what I wanted & needed after a weeks vacation:) He also took some more belly pics. We are a little over 7 1/2 months now & getting really excited for our new addition! I hope every Mom had just as wonderful of a Mother's Day as I did! And to my Mom, thanks for being the most wonderful amazing Mother! I hope when this little one comes along I am just like you:))
And btw, those ARE tan lines, or moreso a little burn line from our vacation. I thought it would add a little character:) LOL

BABY SHOWER #1

On May 8th my matron of honor, Caroline (aka Darryl), threw Durbin and I our first BABY shower! It was absolutely perfect. She did a BYOB theme....Bring Your Own Book, which we thought was adorable. Instead of a card, people brought and signed a book with a little message to our little one. We even let the MEN come:) They seemed to have a blast....sports and beer were of the essence and definitely made it more interesting! Little Durbin (The Durbinator) received a ton of wonderful gifts and we are so excited to share each and every one when he/she arrives. One shower down and 6 to go.....we are so excited and can't wait to introduce our new addition here soon! Thanks again Darryl for a wonderful shower. We love you!

Daddy even gets to open gifts:)
