3 Week Update!

Evy and Mommy went for her 3 week check up and she's passesd her birthweight & now weighs 7lbs 12.5 oz! Mommy & Daddy are so proud. The doctor says she's doing really well and looks great! She's sleeping about 8-10 hours a night with maybe one wakeup diaper change/feeding! We can only hope those nights continue. We have taken a ton of pictures and will have some posted soon. Our photographer with Bellies & Babies is coming back next week for her 1 month pictures. We may be going crazy with the professional pics, but to not have these monumental times is almost a sin!
As for Mommy & Daddy, we are doing well. I went to the doctor and he said everything looks great. My recover is going perfectly. I still thank GOD that I had an easy birthing experience....a short labor, NO swelling, complications, etc. Even moreso, I am SOOOO glad I didn't have a C-Section!!! The only two things I prayed for was a little one over 7.5 lbs and a normal delivery. I'm sooooo happy things played in my favor!!!
As for Durbin, he went back to work after about 3 weeks off. It is so wonderful to hear him call home and talk to Evy. You can tell she recognizes his voice. She gets a smile on her face every time. Daddy sure does miss her...it's adorable! I even send him pics every day of her striking her poses and showing Daddy her poutty face!
Other than that, everything is going great at home! I told Durbin the other day that when Evy arrived in our lives I thought to myself, "How can I possibly go back to work??" With that said, there is a HUGE possibility I will be here with her and the Nanny. Thank GOD for Nanny's! I just feel that daycares can be so germy!!:( Plus, I like Evy to be in her home. It's great now to be able to stay home & watch her hit the first of her milestones. I would never want to miss any of them!!!!
Well, that about covers the past couple weeks for the Durbin's . I'll definitely get some more pics up soon. Organizing these is definitely more time consuming than I planned, but it's a blast!!!

Evy's 2 Week Check-up!

On Wednesday we went to the doctor for Evy's 2 week checkup! She is doing very well and the doctor says everything looks great! She weighs 7lbs 6oz and is still 20 inches long....not that we expected her to grow that much in height in 2 weeks:) I can't believe she's 15 days old already! The time is flying by so quickly. She was such a good girl at the doctors too! She didn't shed one tear! We credit that a lot to our fabulous pediatrician! He's amazing! We will be heading back next week for another weigh in. Wouldn't it be nice if my doctor wanted me to come in every week for a weigh in and said putting on weight was a good thing:) Haha!
Well, we will keep you all posted and can't wait to get our delivery and her 1 week pictures back to post those!

Our New Princess...Evelyn Catherine Durbin

On July 14, 2010 Durbin & I welcomed our daughter, Evelyn Catherine, into the world. She weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and was 20 inches long. She's absolutely amazing....perfect in every way! She was born at 3:33pm...the most memorable moment of my life. I was lucky and in labor for about 5 hours from start to finish. Nothing can describe the feeling when the doctor says, "One more push and we will have a baby!" Since Durbin and I waited to find out the sex (yeah surprises), it was an indescribeable feeling and rush of emotion when I realized our new baby was a girl. Durbin said one of his first emotions was...Oh, this just became a lot more expensive:) LOL I can't believe our little princess is already here and has made every day even more special than the one before. Of course she already has Daddy wrapped around his finger! Shocker, right?
It's wonderful that Durbin has about 3 weeks at home to spend with Evelyn and I! I never could have asked for a better husband. He has been more than helpful....with everything! To watch him play with her, talk to her, or even change a diaper......melts my heart! He's even teaching her high five's already:) She's slowly catching on! I think right now her favorite thing to do is poop while daddy holds her and smile while she's doing it! (There will be pictures of that face posted soon)
Durbin and I thank everyone for stopping by to meet Evelyn and are so excited for the rest of you to meet her soon. I'm sure you will love and adore her as much as we do! We had 1 day old professional pictures taken and will be having more newborn pictures taken here within the next several days. I'll get those posted during one of her naps:)
Thank you to our family and friends for making this past week a very memorable and wonderful experience. We are happy to bring a little girl to the world of boys! Girls are just soooo much fun...especially when you're dressing them in all the cute outfits! (Grandma is going nutty with adorable clothes.....Evelyn will definitely be well dressed:))
We love you with all of our hearts Evelyn and are thrilled you are finally here!

2nd Set of Maternity Pictures!!

At about 38 weeks we had our 2nd set of maternity pictures taken. Without surprise, Kristen with Bellies & Babies Photography, did a fantastic job! (www.belliesandbabies.com). Most of them I won't be posting since they are boudoir pictures, but here are the ones we really loved & deemed "appropriate!" Thanks again Kristen for great work. We can't wait to see you here within the next couple of weeks.

GOODBYE WORK.......

As of June 28, I am officially done working! I am looking forward to my "4" months with our new addition. I am sooooo lucky that Durbin has still given me the option to work or not work! What the heck.....it's all extra moooooolah to spend on our little one!:) (I think he wants me to stay at home full time, which is great)! It's nice to not be in debt, not have a mortgage, & plan for the future....that parts a little scary!! Despite all that, I think Durbin fears I'll spend all our money on our little one.....is that wrong??:) LOL We are so happy with how everything is in our lives and are looking forward to the next several months:) Everything is set to go! Now all we need is a little baby to brighten up our already wonderful life!!!

2010 MUD RUN for MS!

On Saturday, Durbin, Pat, Natalie, Peggy & Purdeep ran in the 2010 MUD RUN fundraiser for MS at Harrah's! It's so nice to have a hubby that's so philanthropic:) Of course I had to be a spectator since I'm about 38 weeks pregnant, but next year I am definitely in for this excitement! Congrats to all of you for finishing & I hope your sunburns are fading quickly:)) LOL...leave it to the doctors to be the ones who didn't apply sunscreen:) Hahaha

Durbin & I - post race...obviously

Baby Shower #6

In early June (when I was about 34 weeks pregnant), Nancy, Doss & Claire threw me another Baby Shower. These are like my 2nd Mom's! It seems like I have a tons of these women in my life & I am so grateful for all of them! The shower was absolutely wonderful. Nancy always decorates her home so beautifully so it was no surprise that her home looked amazing! The three ladies went Pottery Barn Kids crazy & had the most wonderful spread of food......& as we all know, a pregnant lady never turns down food, right?:) Thank you so much for such a wonderful shower & a great time had by all. Durbin & I can't wait for you all to meet our little surprise:)

WEEK 37 SURPRISE

Well, we went to the doctor yesterday for another weekly checkup! He said everything is going very well! He's very impressed with my weight & said I could even stand to gain some. Of course that made me feel great, despite my inability to see all of my toes:) LOL He asked if my bags were packed & everything was ready to go. Of course my answer was "NO!" SURPRISE....He suggested I get that done sometime by the end of the week! I was planning on my fnal countdown of 25 days to give me some time to complete everything, but sure enough he threw me a curve ball by saying that I am progressing very well & if I were to deliver next week, that would be just fine with him. He's looking at anywhere within the next 2-3 weeks, but you just never know:) As soon as he said that, it really hit home! Time has flown by and I am going to be a MOM soon! He couldn't figure out why the bump on my belly didn't give me the hint earlier! We spent several hours last night just setting up video monitors, diaper & hospital bags & a bunch of other nursery things! We are just sooooo excited & can't wait for our little surprise!!! I don't think I could ever want any other surprise in life! There's nothing more precious!

NURSERY PICTURES

I am finally getting around to posting the nursery pictures. As a gift from my parents, they gave us the nursery! We wanted something totally different so I told Durbin to pick out the "theme!" At first I was a little hesitant, but after my Mom worked her magic with her artistic ability I can't even tell you how much we love it! She painted the entire mural and it's absolutely amazing! It turned out a million times better than I ever imagined. I will never know how to thank you Mom for all your time and effort to giving our little one a one of a kind nursery! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves! Thanks again Mom & Dad! We can't wait to bring the baby home to their new "room!"
(And for those of you who kept asking, our furniture is from Treasure Rooms. The brand is Romina. It's 100% pure wood, imported from Romania, eco-friendly, etc. The doors & drawers close automatically to prevent slamming and pinching. Wonderful for kids! I would highly recommend it to anyone! We love it!)

THE NURSERY & The beginning of our family!

With much request, I will be getting those nursery pictures up very very soon! A special THANK YOU to my parents, we absolutely love everything in it! For those of you who have come over to see it, shhhhhh!:) We appreciate all your wonderful compliments, but picking stuff out was about all Durbin & I did:)) We can't believe that our little one will be here in less than 30 days! I can imagine how excited all those new mom's were around this time and can't wait for us to bring the little one home. Congrats to all those mommy's and I now know what you meant when you said the last month is great.....and filled with anticipation!
We are sooooo happy we waited until after 3o to start our family and have been patient with our relationship! It only makes things stronger when you don't rush!!! I can't imagine with how easy things have been if we would've jumped into everything....it all would've happened in 9 months and 1 day....a love baby as they call them:)) LOL We have enjoyed being married, traveling & just spending time together! It's wonderful to have found such a perfect guy! I appreciate everything he has done during this pregnancy & can't wait to watch him be a wonderful father to our child! And on that note.....we are so happy that we have a surprise coming soon! Not finding out the sex has been the most wonderful thing EVER! As someone said to me the other day...."why ruin the biggest surprise you get in life???!!!" It's been great just playing the guessing game!!:) We are just blessed to have everything we have and I can't wait for that moment when daddy tells me whether we have a new daughter or son! It's going to be one of the most memorable moments of my life!!!!
Well, I'll have the pictures of the nursery up this weekend and can't wait to see everyone soon! We love and thank you all for your kindness throughout this pregnancy!!!
Oh, Katie, Trish, Marlo, etc....the 2nd set of Maternity pictures are completed!!!! You might just have to stop on by to see them!!! I'll try to post some soon, maybe before I take off for my maternity leave.....in 7 days!

Jackie's Shower

3 Pregnant Ladies:)
Susie (26 Weeks), Jackie (33 Weeks) & Myself (36 Weeks)
Today I went to a shower for the most adorable cousin of mine....well, my cousin's wife, but close enough. She is due 2ish weeks after us and we are so excited for her and Andrew. We are kind of hoping to be in the hospital at the same time for these happy days, but we'll see:) I also have another cousin, my Mom's twin's daughter, Susie, who's due in September. It's great having all these family members expecting their first children. Here's a picture of the 3 pregnant ladies:) We also had one of us back at one of my showers so you can kind of follow how all three of us are doing at the same time!

We love you Jackie!

Pfister's Birthday!

On June 11, the girls celebrated Nancy's Birthday at The Painted Zebra! It was a blast! We had some yummy P'Sghetti's, a few cocktails (some delicious virgin ones for me), & painted some pottery! Of course since I'm prego (35ish weeks), we had to get a picture of me with my girls giving our little one a little pat for the final countdown days....36 to be exact! But who's counting, right?:))
I hope you had a great birthday Nancy......I sure had a blast!

40 Days and 40 Nights:)

With 40 days/40 nights left, we are down to the final countdown. We went to the doctors today and he said everything was going very well! I EVEN LOST WEIGHT! Not quite sure how that happened, but I think Durbin was a little jealous! The doctor said we are right on track and we have an active one on our hands. We're thinking more along the lines of an olympic athlete. I was given a nice right jab, left hook, double flip back kick from our baby right when we left the office. What else is there to say?!
The nursery is almost complete! It is absolutely amazing!!! Thanks Mom! Durbin and I didn't want to do the typical Under the Sea, Jungle, etc popular theme so we had a unique design done. I won't say what the theme is just yet. The pictures are to come....very soon!
Next week we are having our 2nd set of maternity pictures taken. I will definitely post those as soon as I get them back. Hopefully before our little one comes:)
We are putting away all the wonderful gifts away from the showers and truly feel blessed with all the wonderful friends and family we have in our lives. I still have some more pictures to post from the rest of my showers, but those too will come soon!
It is definitely getting crazy around here, but we are so full of excitement that it's not even overwhelming! Everything will fall into place......right?:)
We're excited to keep everyone updated on the exciting future events and hope to see many of you soon:)

MATERNITY PICTURES (set #1) - 8 months pregnant

Durbin & I wanted to remember this special journey of my pregnancy & the birth of our first child. So, at 8 months along we had our 1st set of maternity pictures taken. We absolutely love them & couldn't have asked for a better photographer... Kristin:) A friend of mine from high school recommended Bellies and Babies and their work is amazing. Check out the website at www.belliesandbabies.com.

We will be having a 2nd set of maternity pictures taken soon, followed by labor & delivery, newborn, and pictures every month until 12 months.....who knows, we might keep going:))
